Any one using AXXIS Ultimate brake pads ?
CA-Automotive are doing them at a decent price, well compared to some other brands of uprated pads which seem too expensive.

I want them for fast road/the odd track day.
Set up i thinking of putting together is stock discs(may be ATE power discs), AXXIS Ultimate brake pads, steel over-braided brake lines and some ATE Super blue fluid.

Nope but a buddy did in his trackday mx5 mk2 similar weight to e30 & he raved about them, got v good wear out of them.
But im a big fan of ebc yellow on the e30 tracker, v v v v cheap price & wear rates are good.
Big thread I started a while back on seloc ref e3o- pads is good for info, lots of the races rave about the pagid Rs's only prob is they are very very expensive.

That's what i liked when i tried googling them, a lot of positive comments and a lot cheaper than the likes of Pagid/etc.
There was quite a few MX5 boys using them.

I have used PAGIG Blue and love them! But very expensive..... (£150 the fronts only, ouch!)iguana wrote:Nope but a buddy did in his trackday mx5 mk2 similar weight to e30 & he raved about them, got v good wear out of them.

I am very tempted to try some EBC yellow, but don't find them cheap enough to take the plunge.
Uwe- £60 a full set i.e fornt & rears inc posage not cheap enough....!
personally I think they are posibly the best pad for tracaking an e30 in the whole wide world at that price & that still got lots of life left after 2 track days- 1 wet 1 dry

sorry should have mentioned that I run 735 calipers which require the same pad as E36 M3. That brings it closer to £90ish IRRC.iguana wrote:Uwe- £60 a full set i.e fornt & rears inc posage not cheap enough....!![]()

Put another 60 on top and I know what I have (PAGID BLue).
I do actually not need very aggresive pads, I am fine with bog standard road pads (£23 the fronts!!!). It's more of a wear issue (20 laps max on the Ring) and I am fed up to change pads in the morning.
I bought a set of AXXIS pads (used) and have tried them in Brands last week.
Can't say anything negative, but weather conditions have been not challenging enough for the brakes to
judge them properly. but very smooth and no judder at all.

I ended up going with yellow stuff(also at Bedford on the 9th) due to more positive feed back about them, they lasted well and didn't fade. I had the standard backs smoking a bit but no smoke from the yellows.
Bigger brakes are in the planning now i've got some 16" wheels on so my old calipers/discs/yellow stuff pads will be up for sale.

I've recently bought some EBC yellow stuff and they lasted no problem on a 205 which was on slicks. With slicks you get so much more force on the brakes, so I was pleased not to fade them. They don't seem to have worn at all which was a bonus, although its a fair bit lighter than most e30's.
I have these fitted to my M5 for the odd trackday.
They are a reasonable compromise IMO for track/road-however I would not feel confident driving to the limit on them as they are not adequate for full on track use.
I did one track day on them where I was using the trackday as a learning experience for the M5.

All i've heard are good things about the yellow stuff pads, but i'm not sure I want to get them as our car isn's soley for track use. I don't want it to feel like there's no servo when on the road! On the other hand we cooked our standard setup at Snetterton.
Sorry if its a bit of a hijack but what discs are good for an e30 on the track? People generally don't seem to rate a lot of drilled/grooved discs. I was thinking of going with standard genuine discs.
