Evening all,

Im using the 260 gearbox and starter, but when lining up the starter it is pressed up against the block? I dont want to go ahead and bolt it into place as im worried it isnt positioned correct and may cause premature wear on the ring gear.

I have never seen a starter pressed up against the block.

So, are the pre-facelift units any different from facelight?

With the mileage being low, this could possibly be the starter it left the factory with.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Ryan.

Im using the M20 flywheel. The start is also M20. I think its the width of the M52 block that is causing the problem.

Question is, are there smaller starters for M20's?

Cheers, Ryan.

I must have the only M20 starter to break the rules! Typical.

I'll dig it out and get back to you to see how to get it to you.
