My uncle just phoned to say he's got to take his wheels off his 528 but the locking wheel nuts have got internal splines and he never got the key when he bought the car a couple of weeks ago. any ideas how to get these off without the key.
Cheers

There are a different array of splines to these.
Will either find it in the rear boot toolbox or glovebox.
If not, then there difficult to take off, unless someone close to you has got some.

CR24v??? Where's it all gone?? LOL
Best thing to do would be to get some replacement bolts first, then head down to your local friendly tyre centre. They should be able to get them off for you. I've had them off with the socket technique above but it depends what type of key it is.

But only if you know the code. Which is stamped into the end of the bolt (thread end). Which means you need to get one out first.DanThe wrote:Dont go to the tyre place, if its got the genuine BMW bolts you can buy replacement tools for them

Just go to a BMW dealership and they should have a master set and will then order you the correct one or might even sell you their one and they will just order themselves another. No need to start hammering

IF the bolts are the original one's,giving a stealer the VIN number may turn up the code for the bolts...
