I want to add a z3 steering rack, I understand I need one from the 1.9 model for the 2.7 turn option, can I use standard inner and outer tie rods from the e30 as I want to keep my wheels which are 4x100

Steering rack won't make any difference to the wheel fitment, it all uses the same hubs. This should answer everything

The Z3 rack does not need the custom linkage as it is the same as the E30 rack, it is the E46 purple tag rack that need a different linkage.
The only issue is that the M5X engines tilt further toward the exhaust/steering side and it can be very tight for the exhaust compared to the M20. The thinner linkage gives more space for the exhaust.
