Hi,
I've just had my new sump gasket delivered from Cotswolds. Should I use sealant?
If so, which type?
What is the torque for the bolts when putting back on?
Thanks a™‚

Moredoor autos with small engines are cool - but my new m20b25 is awesome!

Shouldn't be any need to use any sealant, aslong as both surfaces are nice and clean.

If sealant is used, keep it to a minimum. Excess sealant that is squeezed out inside the sump tends to form little balls that are very effective at blocking the gauze on the oil pick up pipe.

If you have to use a sealant, I would use hylomar blue. Is a non setting compound, but is good stuff.
