in a way do seem extortionate.. but in comparison to milk quite cheap you cant use milk as a fuel!
either way I just wanted to know if it was just me who doesnt mind fuelling their e30 up without cringing and will happily still give it some welly and still not mind?

Yes but you will not drink 55 litres or more in a week...
petrol is outrageously expensive but if you own an e30 you just have to lump it and enjoy the drive. My only changes to my driving habits are that I have cut out unnecessary short journeys and I rarely miss an oppurtunity for engaging neutral.

it is expensive but given the uncertainty of energy supply i personally get pissed off with the ignorance of people who moan about it, glad to see no-one here is mindlessly moaning about it. while entire villages of innocent people in other corners of the earth are literally eliminated from the political equation (america, russia, china arming rival gangs in poorer countries encouraging self annihilation while telling us through the media they're on humanitarian missions!), winge-ing about a few pence seems dispicable! i'm not an activist or anything like that and i do hate the cost of living in this country but at least we're not getting shot!

Fuel is expensive. It would be nice if it wasn't but due to limited supply, it is.
Enjoy your car while you can ;)

so do you just wander through life handing out cash on request without considering or questioning the amounts? if so next time your looking for a quality joiner give me a phone.jacko wrote:if you have to question how much, not just petrol but anything, then you can't afford it!
I think its something stupid like 50-60% tax on fuel prices which is silly. But oh well, that is the U.K. Im not too bothered by fuel prices tbh. If you can afford it then dont drive so much.

That sounds closer to me, can somebody explain why the French have their road tax as part of the cost of the fuel they use and we still pay more than them per litre + Road tax in the UK?fuzzy wrote:isnt it more like 80% ish?

no but if you consider that the dutch pay 55% tax on their wages and when they do overtime they dont get cash they get hours back to take at a later date things in the uk arent quite as bad as we think.jam172 wrote:That sounds closer to me, can somebody explain why the French have their road tax as part of the cost of the fuel they use and we still pay more than them per litre + Road tax in the UK?fuzzy wrote:isnt it more like 80% ish?

yes but is their government as free and easy with their taxpayers cash handing it out willy nilly in aid to other countries not to mention all the grand disasters at home that our glorious leaders mange to precide over? and dont forget all the hospitality, expences and the second and third homes of our freeloading mp's have to be paid for somehow not to mention the manufactured gridlock of our roads masquarading as 'traffic calming' doesnt come cheap

Because i have a few cars, i would really like to see the UK adopt the same system as France, ie no seperate road fund license (after all you are then paying for what you use), my oldest car is Feb'73 and i even have to tax that, i know it's my choice but when they first introduced the "classic car no road tax" it was any car over 25yrs, they then moved the goal posts and said "must be prior to Jan '73 to be exempt, and they haven't reveiwed it since B*stards

it doesnt really matter anymore what system they choose as if any changes are made you know it wont be to the benefit of the common man but more to do with how much more they can squeeze out of your wallet.

an old banger 'm' reg chavalier that cost me £150. my touring was costing me over £100 a week on fuel to get me to work . this costs me about £40. we used the chavalier as target practice with a nail gun on rapid fire. it now has about a dozen 'bullet holes' right along the passenger side. great funjam172 wrote:Oh well, on a lighter note, shame you live so far away fuzzy, i'd love to see you're cossie touring![]()

and if you have been shot then its your own fault for either being careless (the long round pipe bit points AWAY from you) or being some sort of gangst drug dealing pimp.jam172 wrote:Er surprisingly enough HenryM3, no i haven't, sorry didn't mean to offend anyone that has.HenryM3 wrote:Looking back at your previous post jam172, you've obviously never been shot. road fund license indeed, what is the percentage of the 165 quid i have to pay at the end of this month that actually goes into repairing roads?? 7% i read somewhere!! only thing i hate paying for more than road tax is the bloody bulls**t that is the tv license!! hopefully when it all goes digital i can opt not to pay for the bbc to indulge in the rubbishy waffle they fill their channels with! apart from top gear that is! lol! but ill quite happily watch it on dave some time later when theyve paid the bbc again to allow them broadcast it again after us mugs have already paid for them to make it!!
tax on car fuel makes me sick!! should be 6% like any other fuel/power.
we all need to make a stand! like the fuel crisis few years back!!
i am hereby arranging a rolling road block of at least 40 e30s to do the length of the m1 at 5mph whos in? and what time/date is good for everyone???

at the end of the day you dont have a six cylinder bmw for economy especially an e30. they keep putting the price up. i dont give a toss because i see it as a challenge! they want to try and stop the e30 from being on the road! im lucky enough to earn a deicent wage so the money side of things dosent bother me.
