hi, looking to turbo my 2.7 and was just wondering what the job is like? im pretty good with mechanicals and have done a lot of work to my e30, just wondering on a scale of 1/10, also will i need anything else i.e uprated ecu, chip, injectors, etc etc. oh and what do i do about the exhaust downpipe as it wont go onto the turbo!

Guess it depends on how handy you are with a welder really.
I'd say a straight-forward conversion would be a 3/10 with 1 being easy-peasy-poo, and 10 being nigh on impossible.
You need to junk the standard ECU to do the job properly, buying something mappable which can 'see' boost pressure.
Injectors definately need uprating, and if you're doing the job yourself, you'll need to fab up a down pipe.

would it still give a good increese in power if i used the stock ecu and injectors for now, until i suss what ecu to use to unleash the real bhp?

No it will not unless you use other measures to get more fuel flow.

so where do i get the correct ecu and injectors?
