Hi y'all,

Do you have to drop the prop from the diff ( which looks like a complete bugger of a job ) or can I get away with just removing the bolts that connect the prop to the box. I ai'nt got much room under the car

Cheers

Getting the prop off is a piece of piss compared to getting the top two engine to bellhousing bolts out!

Hi - dropping the prop off the diff was easy when I changed my diff recently - main thing is to get rear wheels off the ground so you can rotate the prop to undo each bolt at or near the bottom. My bolts were tight (oooeeerrr) so I needed to use a breaker bar for extra leverage, but otherwise no problem. I should add I have a full size pit in my garage, so no crawling about underneath!

I was going to start my clutch replacement today on my drive but i thought better of it , it can be a bitch of a job if you aint got the right amount of room or long enough extension bars for those top bolts as turbo said , it can be done tho !
Starter motor bolts can be a swine too .
I opted to crawl up my ex bosses ass and ask him for the use of one of his ramps on saturday , thank fudge he said yes , and i also got the offer of a box strip and check while its out from one of the lads !
If i start at 9 it should all be back in by 1-2 !
Am i the jammiest git or what ?

Good luck with yours Georgen youll do it mate

Last time I had to get to those two bolts I had to use my ratchet with two extenders and a universal...the prop is nothing compared to those bolts
