M20 Intake manifold mod....

I have been thinking about this for a long time as fabrication, for me, would be no problem....

Would there be any benfit in modding the intake manifold ?

This is what i am thinking about. Chopping of the bits that bolt to the head, about 30mm or so behind the injectors, welding them to, say, 120mm X 120mm Ali box section, and then fixing the TB to the centre of the box section, or using two smaller TB's. ?

I know that BMW would of spent loads on the design of the intake manifold, but it just looks so clumsy.....

Ive got access to any size from 40mm X 40mm upwards, in 5mm increments, upto 200mm X 200mm. Some Rectanlge.

How would you radius the runners where they join the plenum(box section) ?

Could be good for some folks who want a bigger TB for a bit of extra air flow ?

Have a look on ebay.com for some cheap large TB's ?

Like the "Trumpets" on a M3 plenum ?

I can spin some Ali tube to make them.

Trumpets if practicle but i was thinking just rounding the edges off so the air doesn't have to go over a sharp edge as it travels from the plenum into the runners ?

A bit like i've done on here, just round the edges off.
