The console is marked for the switches.
I didn't think about the rear cut-off switch when I bought the parts, so I just linked the two wires together. A don't have children and am not likely to, so it's not an issue. In the unlikely event that I ever sell the car, I'll fit a switch first.

If a four door car has OE electric fronts, then it will have the connectors for the rear switches under the marked out positions for the switches on the console.
The wiring may end at a socket half way up the rear door hinge pillars, or, in about half of all cars, in my experience, a plug will be there as well, and the loom into the doors will be fitted.
To add rear electric windows you will need: four switches, the rear switch isolator switch for the rear windows, the complete rear motor assemblies ( nothing like the fronts), doorcards (or something to block the manual winder hole), and possibly, the door looms.

the rear doorcards on mine have plastic caps to cover where the winders would go. i'm pretty sure they're standard as i bought some more from bmw (only about Ԛ£1 i think) when the kids managed to pull mine out and lose them! :?

The plastic caps are for dealer fit conversions. Factory fitted rear electric windows are covered by door cards with no winder hole in them.

Alternative that "looks like it belongs there" on front doorcards, is to fit angled tweeter pods over the holes (wiring is already in the doors on the fronts). Not sure if it would look right in the back though, and you'd have to add the wiring.

Fit a small metal stud to each one and connect the studs by a piece of wire to a plug lead.

Three of 'em. They've comprehensively wrecked the touring rear seats!

Just done my electric rears today. Dead easy! Hardest part is getting the centre console out.
Mind, it had me worried a bit when they wouldn't work....... Until I sussed that you have to have all the switches plugged in!
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Keep your eyes open for them in the scrapyards. They're not that common, but I come across a set occassionaly.
Very easy to fit, once you get the card off.

me and my mate converted a pair of manual winder touring doors to electric, replaced the glass and fitted them all up on my car today to replace 2 damaged doors. took us 4-5 hours all in. at that rate, a pair of touring rear doors could be converted in 3 - 4 hours i reckon.

getting the wiring in place before doing the window swap makes things a lot easier as you cant wind the motors up and down without power

Probably less than that! took me 4 hours and I'm ssslllloooooooooww.
