my arches are starting to go on the inside lip. dont think that the lip can be saved. but i have seen replacement panels that go right up into the main part of the panel. do you think that just the lip could be replaced somehow? this would bring my paint bill down a bit!

The replacement panels you have seen need to be welded in place , filled and re-shaped,then repaint the rear panel.Around £500 :(

I have a Hadrian Off Side Rear spare, if needed - there seems to be a heck of a lot to cut out. You could always learn to to the paint job yourself. Haven't had the courage to do it myself yet 'tho! :D

you can fit as little or as much as you want but i always think that you should keep as much original as possible whilst still doing what you set out to do(ie get rid of the rust) in my opinion there is little point going right into the quater panel and i would just keep it inside the flare of the arch as this gives you a line to work to when you blend in the new metal with filler (or lead if youre really old school)
No longer self employed but still available for welding duties.

A good friend of mine did the arches and my other pall painted both rear quaters! Its quite handy when two of your old skool palls work in a body shop!! :D I think i cost me - £40 for both repairs and a £80 mp3 player 4 the paint job!! Sorted A!

We used a grinder and got rid of all the rust , Then we treated the bear metal will anti rust compound , then used the smallest amount of metal filler, built up the arch with about 10 coats of PINK primer and then the paint!! Thats it JD!

Mind u i caught the rust at the bubble stage!!
