I'm hoping this is an easy question answer, but I have a 1990 325i with a water leak that is coming from inside the bell housing. Is their a core plug in their or is it something else?

Back end of a M20 block is plain, flat, machined iron. There is, however, an alloy hose connector and hose right at the back of the head which are common places for leaks.
