has anyone here busted their timing belt? if so is it true that the valves will bend? what is the chance of the valves being okay?from what i have heard they always bend
can any one help me with this pondering thought?

I work for a bmw specialist and have never seen a busted timing belt that did not bend at least one valve but thats not to say it is not possible the only way to find out is to fit a new one and try and turn the engine (spark plugs removed) go slowly if you have any resistance to turning it you probably have a bent valve do not try to force it past this point if so as you will do further damage ! if not and the engine turns freely do a compression test to make shure all the valves are sealing
good luck
