Nah, it's not my time that bothers me, it's just the attitude of "quick, post a question" rather than "quick, search for an answer."
I know the forum search is daunting, and I know the Wiki needs more tweaking so make it user-friendly, but when there's a question about Lights and there's a big box on the front page of the Wiki called Lights, I can normally tell someone's being a teeny bit lazy.
Let me know how you get on with the Heater bit, and I'll clean up the Heater page if it's confusing.

, i unplugged the thermostat n took it for a drive to get hot, but no heat so i now assume the 2nd hand stat i bought is fooked aswell ,better than having a wet carpet like the last one i spose :/

You can only call it a heater control valve - it's not a thermostat of any description.
The default position of the valve is open when disconnected, and I doubt if this is your problem.
If you're sure the pipes are the right way around, I suspect you have a partial airlock (remove top heater hose to release), the matrix is partially blocked, or the cable from the heat control to the heater box has a problem, and isn't moving the blender flap to full hot.
