My mate from work has a 325 E36, and is wanting to upgrade the brakes. I don't really know anything about e36's, but I was thinking that E36 M3 brakes would be a good upgrade? Would this be right or are they the same brakes? Also would the e36 M3 evo brakes be better still? Thanks :)

Is the e46 upgrade a bolt on upgrade? Are there any forums I can let him know of that are good for e36's? Cheers

i think you just need to bend the back plate a bit but as long as you have the calipers and carriers it should bolt on

forum wise

nicked from another forum for the rear set up

330 rear bbk

heres the tired old set up

as you can see the 330 is massive compared
Image

as you can see the lip on the otsid eedge of the backing plate will be in the way of the new dics so will have to be cut away, i used an air saw and munched it but i think the next best route would be a grinder as i can see it being an arse with a hack saw.

heres the next step
1, backing plate cat to suit
2, new shoes
3, all components dis-assembled wired down and copper greased

th erest is pretty straight forward just revers of the dis-assembly but with the new discs and calipers as they just bolt straight on

it now fills the wheel much better
