
Gearbox Gasket Query

If you do take it apart, PLEASE take some piccies inside!
From the looks of it, all the springy bits of the selector mechanism are housed in the rear casing, but then there must be something which extends forward into the rest of the gearbos to move the bits about and select gears.
As you can probably tell, I don't really have a clue!

Have you cleaned it up and made sure it's not the output shaft seal spraying oil all over the place ?
It just seems a bit strange to me that there's oil all over the top of the gearchange linkage as well.
Bently's and the old Haynes book explain how to open them.
I think there precision machined and don't have a gasket.
