right over the christmas holidays ill be tackling my m50 conversion so just making sure ive got everything to do it.

These are what i have

engine with loom converted already :D
clutch and flywheel (m20)
gearbox (m42)?
gearbox(m20)?
m42 prop
m20 prop
3:25 lsd
rad and pipes
brake servo

stuff i need

e34 throttle cable
water pump and gasket
fan belt
sump and rocker gasket
LSD diff oil
modify the manifolds
another lower half of the e30 steering linkage
325 springs which may be sorted.

Also i need some info on the exhaust system. i still want to have a single exit rear box. so i was thinking that the 320 has a 2 to 1 centre silancer which i have, but the diamater off the pipes look to small as i was thinking of using 2.5" diamater for the system.
has any body tryed this or something else ?
and what diameter pipe would you recomend?

Also am i missing something whats not on the list? i might off forgot

will get pics and diamaters of manifolds and silencer ect.

Use the M42'box.The M20 engine sits at a slightly different angle, making it's matching 'box unsuitable. Good luck with the job,I am fighting the exhaust fabrication at the moment!!

ive got the tubed steel manifolds. and i have some cast ones which have been modified but think tubbed ones will be much better. But if i dont get time to modify the tube ones ill use the cast ones for now.
i was goin to use a e36 gearbox and the 3:25 diff but now going to use the m42 gearbox. i know the acceleration is going to be a bit shite but it should cruise on the motor way nice. when i get bored ill put a 3:64 in it tho.

oh yea ive got the m5 engine mounts aswell

any more ideas about the exhaust ?

also any pics of single pipe rear exhaust boxes??

cheers simon

And if you decide that you don't need your 3.25 LSD then you can sell it to me! :D

Image This is a view under mine from the front,it's difficult to get a decent shot, have a look at my thread in the photo gallery for more of the exhaust(Daimlerman's folly).I have wrapped some exhaust wrap round the down pipes now to hide my welding from the MoT man!! winkeye

Its worth doing regardless of how nice/nasty your welding is as the extra heat will eventually start to affect the rubber engine mount
