I had no idea they were 'fabled'
They were standard fitment on the 66 RLE's produced and according to another Z1 friend of mine, there were between 16 and 18 standard Z1's independently converted to full RLE spec using OEM spare parts! NOT cheap!!
I guess from your comment then that 17" Alpina's in 4x100 are something of a rarity? I guess if they only ever put them on the RLE then I can see why this is the case....

We'd just been from Brighton - Devils Dyke and then dropped down to the pub for a bite to eat before heading back out for some more fun!
There was a Ferrari 360 in the pub carpark and it didn't get a second look from anyone because they were all so intruiged by the Zeds....
