The 2'' ones are the same dimensions as the 2'' pipe as there to weld on the end like a flared fitting, pm me your details and ill send them tomorrow before i go away again. Id guess they'd be cheeper than the bends, but they will all be new sort payment later dude.

You only have to use one tb, the one with the linkage is the proper one the others abit thinner build quality. :D

Well another good bit done to the project, been realy busy at work but mangaed to get a few bits done.

After all my questions on the m20 clutch swop ive managed to get someware at last.

thanks chris w, town325i and odbod especialy.

Heres a few pic of the m20 b23 flywheel compared to the m40 one which most uk IS's seam to come with. bit of a weight differance.

Image
Image

Only 1mm differane from the crank face to the back of the flywheel, nothing to worry about.

Had to use a m30 starter in the end an mahine the back of the pinion gear down where the spring sit.

you can see where i had to turn the shamfer back on to the back of the pinion, also had to put the groove back in were the spring clip clamps to holed the spring on the shaft. :D

Image

Image

Now i can run an m20 b25 clutch which should take the torque.
i just have to use the e21 323 release bearing whih was £70! £20 cheaper than the sach clutch kit that came with a 325 release bearing which unfortuanly is the wrong size which is why i need the e21 one :D

The thing is that the m20 has all the weight near the centre of the wheel which helps more than the weight loss its self. :D

Bought these off ebay last week, Supertech valves with a nitrid coating. there designed for boosted aplications and are solid rather than the sodium filled so there shouldnt be any trouble with them when they start to work hard and get hot in my set up :D

coatinghttp://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/supertech/valvetrain.html

Image
Image

Also bought the retainers, seats and dual springs that the guy was selling. pics to follow

Only problem i can see is that the supertech valves are 1mm thinner on the stem than the standard ones so i will have to get some guides/seals to suit. any ideas?

M50/S50 guides might well work, the S50B32 has 6mm guides.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

Got some progress on the flywheel swop, got another engine and gear box bolted up upside down and bolted all the flywheel assembly on to it with the modified starter, connected a set of jump leads up and and it burst in to "life"/ turned over :D

No i know it all works i can get it properly bolted up.

i had to turn it upside down as there was no way of sitting it on the floor with the sump still on.

The head was already off when i got the engine off kedge and someones glued the sump plug up so its still pritty full of oil to.

Watched a program once was based in India, they just took an enine out of a warehouse, plonked it on the floor, poured some petrol in it and just started it on the floor 8O

Fine, no probs, theres sum simular ones one uk ebay sometimes for £79-£99. There a much easyer solution than what i made but to be honest if your going to be mounting it in a position you could pipe to that type of cooler id would use an air to air intercooler instead, loads out there an easyer system to install.

Also if posible i would suggest trying to put the throttle upstream of the charger so you havent got to add dumpvalves at more expense. :D

Having been through the mill on this, 2nd time around I'd listen to Matt here. Downstream throttle on a positive displacement charger is a pain.

Cool. Give me a bell next time mate. After I hooked in the proper air intake I had much better IATs so I gave her a bunch more advance and she was running really well. Still get some slight resets but noticed that they only happen when I try to run way too little advance (sub 10deg) so with the cooler intakes it's not been a problem which is nice.

Need to get proper H4 replacement light(s) though as it's not gonna pass an MOT with one headlamp removed :(

yea... i read a few threads on the upstreme throtle.... mixed opinions... the roots sc doesn't lend itself to it as well as your centrifugal... but the one that kept commimg up was hammer action... i would have gone centrifugal only budget limitation.

im going to recirc from the inlet maniflod to post throtle with a 40mm dump valve and dumping excess with a vag recirc 7psi, somthing like the dasc.

i'm trying to keep the heat low as possible.... runing the chargecooler in conjunction with a front mounted alu oil cooler with two fans and additives.... read a few bits on vr6, lotus and US forums coulpe of reports of 20bhp increase.

was trying to get through to emerald.... their is no answer, have they moved....?

You seam to have a good idea where your going. Emerald are still at the same place, sometimes its easyer to email them. Dave always checks his email and replys before he starts the days mapping. Ive got full wiring diagrams for an motronic to emerald adaptor plug. :D

i got to read back over your m45 build again.... and get a couple of questions together.

i'll try emerald again next week.... the hole ecu side of it is frying my head.... been avoiding it for ages but the time has come to start readin up more on it.....

Ohh what you got? Please be plug and play... The lights is one thing i havent been looking forward to making an adaptor/holder for.

Ill post some pics of the diagrams up when i get a chance. You just need to add a loom for the map sensor and the manifold temp iirc.

Nice! so is that dip, main and sides then?

Got it running to day, the first vid, running with the trottle set up wrong.

This is later tonight once it had been idling for a bit and the enigne was up to temp, still got a 3000rpm limit for the first 60miles to run the charger in.

First i forgot to reset the throttle limits so the ecu thought the throttle was open but it was shut so it was over fueling, anyway heres the vid of it running properly. need to tidy the bay up now i know it all works ok.
