got a vid no sound tho!
very eventful day people :D
test drive went ok :D
alltho i only went 1/4 mile up the road! but it made it!!
just waiting for a new cameraman to get in from work then i get another vid with sound!!
cheers alex :D i didnt even think about hackin them .fig's!
So after a bit of the old cut'n'paste come up with some kind of hash up of the pinto &vr6 maps.
Dont you love open source!
the car pulled very strong to 4000rpm didnt want to take it any further just yet! still getting it running without the s/c! as i need some kind of bypass valve! as the pipe popped off the second the throttle was shut :-x it was the throttle switch (not the tps) not turning off!
will post when i get a vid

ive made a kind of bypass valve from an old egr valve i had knocking about it seems to open under vacuum with charger turned off im hoping it will do the same with it turned on and not leak loads! ive left it open to atmos at the mo so i will be able to hear any leaks!

Ho well, almost finished the wiring of the Emerald yesterday, going from this:

to this:

Also made the second manifold and made sure the turbos fitted under the bonnet.

They do, and I did take some piccies, but then my awesome free camera decided to delete them :(

You could perhaps turn up a couple of bungs for the existing TB, take the spindle and butterfly out and plug the resulting holes :)

The throttle response on that is insane! Is that down to the Emerald do you think? Must admit the only thing I missed when I went from 205 GTi to 325i was the incredible throttle response in the GTi, hence the throttle bodies for my conversion.

Perhaps I needn't have bothered

Ooh, must be producing quite a lot of boost even at idle then?

My thoughts exactley, how much boost are you running Lentec?

That sounds like it revs all the way in the vid, but it is loud like you say

so its plug'n'prey for you now is it!!

honest if you look in the vid you can see i only open the throttle a little bit!
the noise is the charger working against the throttle flap that was allmost closed hence when i bliped it the pipe popped

Just got some billet aluminium 10mm plate and some 100mm bar with a 50mm hole in it im gonna have a go at making a dummy throttle body so i can relocate the old one!

Hopefully, but Ant has had some info from another MS user in the states and has given us another map to try, seems Jims map is way to rich and not as mapped as it could be, so the new one will be a more plug&play map.
Hopefully I'll be able to get power to the MS tonight and get it to talk to my PC, then it's just the sensors to fit and only the TPS is a bit of a PITA.
The mustang one we have is HUGE compared to the std one.

Doesn't say anything about manufacturer on it, only a item number

The hole that is for the actual arm of the tps in 5x bigger than the std one, thinking of filling the hole full of araldite and letting it go off before attaching it to the custom bracket and then the TB, have you used the std one on yours?

Mark let me know how you get on plz M8

I await my stim kit so I may delve further.

Before you hook anything up M8, check the Megatune version you have is correct, the version you need to be using is the 417 one, the 390 will not talk to the MS unit as the firmware version is incorrect.

you will need to recalculate the REQ FUEL for the 714s too Mate, use the embedded claculator function, if you find the PWM is over 100% duty cycle then fudge the injector delivery by calculating it based on higher base fuel pressure,

ie:

714 @ 3 BAR= 204cc/min
714 @ 3.5 BAR= 238cc/min

Print off the Readme word document, theres a lot of extra info there with regard to setting it all up, you must alter the MSQ software so the # SET is next to the MsnS-Extra, all other values must be #UNSET, don't forget to copy the settings.ini file over

Good luck M8, gimme a buzz if you need a hand.

Assuming you get comms OK and set the base settings up you can go ahead and bin the AFM @ last !!

For the TPS.... the soloution is simple really, no araldite require, you can remove the stock innards from the Bosch unit, take the centre D drive spindle out and fit that inside the peg drive TPS supplied, sounds odd I know but you'll see, the D "adapter" will only fit in one position so i kinda sets itself up.

I'll take some pix of mine tomoz if I actaully get Lunch

Ant,

I checked I have the correct version now, def 417, I've changed the settings so that msns-extra is now #set, but not sure on the ini file side. It's missing of JD's site and when you follow the link there are a few to choose from....just need a little help making sure I get the right one.
I had managed to use JD's map he sent us and I now have figures on the gauges etc, but yet to plug in the MS box.....tonight 4 sure :D

I don't know if this is of use to you chaps but i thought i'd post a picy of my Emerald TPS and say that it fits the D-shaft with out any mods, you have got to make a mounting/adapter plate though.
