Hi all,
I'm wanting to change all of the fluids in my car before the track season starts as I have only just recently purchased it and would like to start from a clean sheet, so to say.
I was going to be going for Silkolene Pro-S 15w-50 which seems to be regarded as a good oil but would it be acceptable for the following:
Re-built approximately 15k miles ago (larger 48mm throttle bodies).
Rolling road mapped 236bhp@7800rpm
Schrick 276/284 cams
Lightened flywheel
Carbon-fibre intake & MAXX Alpha-N piggyback air/fuel control ECU
I was going to change the gearbox oil and was wondering what people were putting in for track and 'ring use. The diff oil might as well be changed at the same time, i've got a 3.93 diff, will that make any real difference?
Thanks for the help and sorry for the newbie questions as this is my first BMW!

Valvoline VR1 seems to be the favourite in PBMW, but thats on a standard engine, but getting alot more punishment than yours is likely to see

Rev limiter set to 8000rpm at the moment, previous owner says that it has been running on Total Gold, fully synth, I think it is 10w-40.UweM3 wrote:Keep in mind that he is probably revving a lot higher that you guys in PBMW with the S14.
