I bought some part-worn semis they were branded up as "silverstone" some far east jobbie. Don't know how they compare to R888s or anything else as it was my first go out on anything like that. Compared to 205/50/15 T1-S Proxes these 185/45/14s were out of this world. A whole different game.Theo325 wrote:Yeah had my r888's on, grip and braking were fantastic consdering the interesting weight distribution on my car. I was using ebc reds at bedford, im hoping the ferodos will be even better.
What tyres were you using?
How did your tyres wear. Have you done anything to get more neg camber up front?
E46 M3 CSL but dreaming of another E30.
Ah that's really good! My part worns got killed on the outsideTheo325 wrote:Seem to have even wear across the tyre which is good, and there is planty of meat left on them. I'm awaiting delivery of some adjustable top mounts which will allow me to run up to 2.5 degrees neg.
What top mounts are you going for? I'm gonna check toe but reckon I'm going to need more neg camber anyway.

Ahh yes - I saw that thread. I'm just pissed off cos I shelled out for two brand new standard front top mounts which are pretty expensive. Oh well. It's only money :-/ lol

i have all hardware in place to support a garrett 2871r turbo-360-400bhp and it would be a simple swap job with post change remap.... this is very tempting as i could sell my current s15 turbo for a fair amount so all id be paying would be about £300 for the mapping. car is sometime uninspiring engine wise between 6k-7k as peak bhp is a 5900

yes but at least e30s arent made of .5mm gauge steel with crappy spot welding plus glue(seam sealant) holding the damn thing together! lolDan318-is wrote:Christ K, your really making us e30 owners look like peasants mate!
dont get me started on unsuitability of 2 main ingredients (engine and gearbox) to track work in standard form!
there is a worrying amount of oil specules on the back of my turd around the exhaust..no oil in catch can... im hoping rather optimistically that some sneaked thru the rocker breather or the passenger side diff seal is still weeping LOL

t6hats his head being violently pushed forwards under braking.... everett had a HANS device on so his head wasnt propelled forwards...his coulthard'esque neck muscles i believe may also have helped
I don't know. My exhaust is fine, but if you hear my car with the airbox screaming past.....1an wrote:Uwe were you close to the limit with noise then?

Dude, the video is nowhere near as LOUD as it is in reality.1an wrote:sounds abit like our car, exhaust isnt that loud but induction noise is loud though,
Even the dogs turn their heads when I creep down highstreet with the revs as low as possible.
Best track day ever for me, this was organised by Forumbmw5 on this occasion, we are already organising another later this year. It would be good to make it a joint E30zone/bmw5 event?
