Ok im looking for some new engine mounts as since welding my diff and fitting adjustable suspension its shown them as a major weak point.
Im after some harsh and affective ones as i use the car for drift days.
So anyone got any ideas?
Cost?
Were?
And most of all which ones do i need?
Thanks wayne

ireland engineering are fine so far with my m5 lump
with just one on the drivers side almost no noise increase and greatly reduced engine movement
with both on movement reduced further-almost nil but there was a noise increase
i might put my passenger side one back to stock, as mines a road car

As long as they are strong i would be happy, had a pair of standard mounts let go be4 and it caused me a massive headache dont want it happening again

My engine moves NIL. Vibrations are more but not unbearable. Bonnet shakes a little at idle, but keep in mind I am having a S14 under my bonnet not a silky smooth 6 pot. I have been to the Ring 3 times and sveral UK trackdays without any problem. I actually haven't invented this, DaveG runs them since donkey's years.
So what's wrong, is that too cheap? do you rather spend 10 times the money only to "XY engineering" under you bonnet?

Take it u just drilled out a hole and used one long bolt, did u sleeve it?
Rubber pucks or soild plastic ones?
Im gonna give these ago

These are bog standard ice hockey pucks bought on Ebay. Middle one put on a lathe and cut down to size.
Hole drilled int he centre on lathe as well. A 3mm stainless steel plate on top and bottom to stop the engine mount to wear in the rubber. One long M10 bolt inserted from bottom (yes I know the wrong way, but wasn't sure about height and if I need to remove didn't want to take the engien mount off) and double nutted on top with some tread lock.
Word of warning, do not tighten them up too much, just nip'em up and double nut. Otherwise your n** will fall of from the vibtrations
Not sleeved, just through the rubber. They are quite tough.

Guys....Just to confirm Uwe's not mad at all. I use these on my E30 M3. I have done this using the Ice hockey puks, I also put sikaflex between each one (place a large weight on them overnight), this stops any unwanted sideways flex....
You'd be daft spending 10x on anything else

This in NOT my brainchild. I have copied this setup from GaveG's track M3Dan318-is wrote:Uwe, you are a complete legend mateI have e28 M5 ones on mine, engine is solid although my wallet was hurt after the purchase.
I have stuck them together with Superglue

Gonna do mine as soon as i can locate some pucks, What about gear box mounts any ideas?

http://www.thehockeystop.co.uk/acatalog ... ories.html
6th item down, a whopping 84p each (+vat) i assume these would do the job?
Uwe, do you have a total length to make the 'mount' and length of bolt i will need? or is it a case of taking a mount of and measuring it which is a bit more of a pain when you're using the car every day.
