my diagnostics has bought up a fault code for an air flow sensor i've changed the air flow meter thinking this was the problem but its still bringing up the fault is there a seperate sensor?

I just thinking a bit now... Doesnt BMW have a service on their website where you can see all the parts to your Beemer? I think it is the dot com version who maybe have it, but I am not sure.....

Are we talking M50 lumps? If so the yes there is a separate air temp sensor. Brass plug thing with two pipes leading to it, IIRR. PM Eko, he'll know :thumb:

its an m42 i think like the 318is i didn't know if it would be the lamba sensor thats a brass plug

In a e36 iS it'll be a m44b19. Didnt think the lambda would be called an air flow sensor???

its not an m44 as its in a 318ti so still m42 lambda is classed as an oxygen sensor

i've tested the original afm now against a running car its working fine the flap opens when revved so i've ruled that out what other problem could there be stopping it from starting?

ived owned a few and ats all was been the rubber intake hose its probley split or has i small hole id take it off and checkit out.a split in it would make u think the mass sensors gone

i've checked the diagnostics and it telling me the oxygen sensor is not ready so i've going ot change that
