Been sneaking around on here for a while.Anyway.To show the result of my efforts over winter. Its a '88 cabby. All lowered.Decambered adjustable back end.Its been waxoyoled from new,Thats the yellow in the pictures.Proper solid car.Its more of a rat conversion at the moment.Tidying will happen once its on the road and in use.You may have to give me a while to sort these pictures to upload correctly
Its from a 735i Auto of '88 vintage.Note the lack of throtle cable?Heh?Lack of cable blah blah.
There are the 2 engine ecu's.One is for the engine.Other other is mainly the electronic throttle control. There's another 2 in the car,one for the slush box and the other is for the ABS.Retro'd it from a facelift. It runs and drives.I have to sort insurance out yet.Had £365 from Adrain Flux best so far(Nearly 40..).Any recommendations for good companies.I have had good experance with 'Flux.
This is the engine in.Battery in the back where the counter wieght was.Image
ECU detailImage and finally. The nasty bit to some, note the sport switch? The futures low and lazyImage

Well done on what you've done so far, i've not seen an auto 335 yet ?

Try HIC for your insurance.

How's your bonnet clearance with that E34 expansion tank ?

Like it.

What are the Auto boxes like for these engines? I like having an auto box in my daily car, but only if they are smooth, have predictable gear changes, and don't feel like your being dragged up the road by an engine on elastic.

Thankyou. Clearance is tight.I've cut the bonnet, removed the sound felt. There's only a very small finger gap between the sump and x member.Image

I think the Auto boxes are okay at this age. This one is a 4 speed switchable job.Pretty seamless when driving. Its a ZF unit.Cheap if you manage to break it.Max of £50 for a whole old seven.Try and find a manwell for that money...And this one came free with its loom and ecu attached to the engine which in turn was in the car :D Made things alot easier sorting out the wiring.
