Hi,

There is a price difference between those, but believe me the quality of our kit is almost as good as the bilstein kit.

I suggest you try ours, when you´re not satisfied, what I can´t imagine , we will resolve it!!

Best regards,

Louise

if you want the best suspension available pay the price.
if you want decent but competent suspension pay an average price
if you want cheaper slightly inferior suspension pay a low price
if you want something for nothing look elsewhere :D

Excuse me... someone mentioned coil overs?

Any of you folks tried to make ur own coil overs?

I did and i´ve serious doubts if i can find better than mine for the same amount of ┚¬Ã¢”š¬Ã¢”š¬ 8)

Some of the parts were bought from Rally Design and Demon Tweeks...

Thats quite interesting mate. Looks quite professional.

Iv searched through tons of results on google for hottuning suspension. iv not found too much but iv not founs any complaints. A few people with vw's use them. It cant hurt to try them for that money tbh.

When are hottuning coilover kits for the E30 coming out? I couldn't find them for the e30? I see you do them for other cars at very good prices?

Hello,

We did sent a request to our manufacter for a coilover kit E30, it is not really a problem to produce it, the difficult part is the end plate at the strut!

When you take agood look at picture 1 of Cravo you see they used the original end plate of BMW and welded a new strut on it.

A good idea , so we´re checking now if there is a possibilty for us to produce a kit like this with a TUV approval!

Best regards,

Louise

I feel we need to re-assess the way we buy 'tuning equipment'.Traditionaly we read a magazine article that tells us about a car that a tuner has built using bits obtained from certain manufacturers. From this we decide that maker 'a' is better than maker 'b'.Now any replacement or 'add-on part' is going to cost money. How much should we spend? The old saying was that 'quality costs', 'you do not get champane for lemonade money'etc. But, tuning parts are made in small numbers,in order for the maker to recover his costs of development and to make a profit, we have become acustumed to paying a high price for an aftermarket item. EG,standard control arm bushes from zimmer are about £15 a pair,Polybush from Evolve about £50ish. I think that the Polybush is better,so I pay the money. Now we normaly decide that the more we pay,the better the goods. Is a Rolls Royce a better car than a BMW 760? You spends your money, you decide. Hottuning have arrived in the UK via the net, the first offering of note to us is a manifold that is a close copy of what we accept is the best available,I can find no negative comment about this manifold,so I have put my money down. The same firm is offering a suspension kit, once again I can find no negative comment.Perhaps Hottuning's sales pitch is to hook us in on low price then raise the price in the same way Miller did with their MAF....in this case, jump in now!! Or pehaps the have the stuff made in the far east at low labour rates and are passing the saving on? Hornby used to make train sets in Margate.A mainline loco with tender 15 years ago cost about £100. The equivilant loco today is made in China, much better finished and detailed and retails for £90. Come on,give these folk a fair chance,we shall soon find out if the gear is first class, rubbish,or value for money.

daimlerman.. I think there has been no negative comment about the manifold as they have been about a few months at most and no one has actually yet put their money where their mouth is and r/r the manifold back to back with the standard one, even the manufacture has had at least a week inbetween the r/r they are having done.. Also they technically have had some neg comments and that is the welding is not great on them.. The internal welds are potentially not good.

Point taken,Jhonno,I have spoken now with a number of zoners who have bought/handled the manifold and I feel it is value for money. When mine arrives,I will smooth off any welds that offend..the unproven result issue does worry me a little but those who have bought and fitted say that the 'arse dyno' shows a gain. This at the moment is fair enough for me,when the current round of improvements to my car are completed I will have a futher power run carried out.I am unable to justify time/cash to check each single change, unfortunatley.

the arse dyno works on many things tho.. Placebo of money spent = gain, noise etc etc

if the welds are smoothed then it'll help (what about the ones that aren't particularly accessable?)

We shall see.. Even if its a little out compared to the BTB/Racing Dynamics ones it can make a big difference..

Very true. I eat baked beans from a tin that says 'Asda special value',I can tell no difference to the one's out of a can marked 'Heinz'...

^ I think you just hit the nail on the head there guys.

no one can say any suspension is better/worse without testing all the options in a controlled manner.

one zoner may want uber low, firm damping and no body roll, another the opposite, give them both the same spec kit and their opinion of what is good/bad would change from their own vantage point.

Buy the best you can afford, within the spec you want and enjoy , there will always be someone who'll spend a lot more, for nothing more than a "better" brandname.

me I think the H+R stuff is awful, but its not rubbish, just not my cuppa tea.

When it comes to suspension, my view is that only 2 damper makers can cut it, Bilstein and Boge. Spax stuff isn't so hot (quality problems) and even the fabled Koni seem to be having issues now.
At the end of the day, a road car does not need coil overs. A Bilstein kit is not expensive. A Bilstein kit will still be there in 100'000 miles. It's the highest quality stuff - even the cheap black Bilsteins are good. You could - if in a tight budget - use the black Bilsteins and a set of decent lowering springs and I'd rather have this that any gleaming red/purple/whatever coloured dampers and spring kits that I know full well will be leaking, rusty sh*t in 18 months time. The fact that a Spax PSX kit is within 150 quid of a Bilstein kit is laughable. Who are they trying to kid?

As the old saying goes - "buy cheap, buy twice" - never more apt than with car bits.

TuV approval counts for NOTHING. I've seen some real rubbish (not to impune Hottuning in any way) with TuV approval. A Spax E36 kit has TuV approval - yet the rear springs are way too short and rear shocks were seized solid...from new. 8O

Looks very much like it from here. But either way, for anyone else who's reading this & doesn't realise it - where that jack looks like it is, are the factory jacking points used for moving the bare shells around. On your average E30 they're the rustiest part of the shell (contested only by rear inner arches!), & very easy to put a jack through!
