Could be condensation. How much water was it?

Did you put the engine in while it was warm? If so, that would explain a little condensation!

Bah. Maybe I'll have to go back to the original (turbo) plan then. Been planning nitrous for ages, but we can't have 2 red 335i cabs both on the gas... can we?!

looking great man! but i tell you what it makes that engine bay look dirty! hehe
you will have to get the sponge out and give it a clean!
nice that you stripped the lot out. makes it looks like there is loads of space

What nitrous kit have you got? & be very careful with combining chips & nitrous!

You got it in ok then ?
Looking good mate
The problem with chips and nitrous is thus:
'chips tend to advance the ignition timing, with a decent shot of nitrous (50 plus) you really need to avoid ignition advance which can lead to detonation. Nitrous detonation is much more destructive than normal air/petrol detonation.
I'm using one of Ant's 2.7 chips with no issues.
Cheers,
Iain T

Nos may take a while so I'll advise on the bottle and line installation but I'll give you a lift with the wiring.
I've jetted mine up to 50bhp today, clutch isn't very happy about it though
