Any idea how much my wife's handy work is going to cost me.

Has a few cracks, is this repairable?.

Cheers Gareth.

Oh no!

Not gonna say what I wanna say!

I had my Valance sprayed up completly for 70quid cash.

Great job they did.

When you say cracks....are the cracks big?

They will be able to fill over them I would imagine.

Better that than a new valance from BMW, 205quid. :)

Don't feel alone on this one, my wife's just done the same. No cracks just knackered paint so i've decided to get the front bumper done also. Ԛ£85 all in.
Great when you see your car coming towards you with both sides of the valance popped out off the clips. Wife says "too bloody low anyway, stupid car, what am i supposed to do when the front is lower than the kerbs" reply "Don't fcukin hit them".

Car is now permanently garaged for sunny days only, driven by me, and bought her a Mitsy Space Star instead for the ASDA demolition derby runs.
The complete restoration can now begin...!
Cheers,
Andy.
Gazza take note, best preventative action is just take it away. Personally I've left the valance duffed as the damage kept accumulating weekly, i couldn't see the point repairing it for it to be hit by a kerb the next day. Fcukin kerbs, trees and lamposts jump out everywhere........yeah right!

Gazza there's a local garage i know in the Northwest near Ormskirk who do bits and bobs if you know what i mean, alright for a front valance etc. Where are you based.
I also went to my local dealer the other day and whilst i was there i enquired about the front end repaint but thought fcuk it while i'm here i'll ask about a complete respray which i thought would be the ultimate, the car of my dreams with a new dealership full paintjob. I sat down and prepared myself to expect the worst. Surprisingly they said if i had the car made good (i.e a little arch work and a bit of bubbling under the bootlid) and then they would respray the whole car for Ԛ£1600 and the hardtop too for Ԛ£1850 incl. The guy there likes the old school cars and said the quote included big discount and further tried to reduce my costs by asking if he could come to mine to see the car and try to advise of any prepping i could do myself to further reduce the total. What a guy. So obviously a little more than the local painter but factory quality labour & original paints with an as new paint warranty. Now that's worth saving for.

I'm quite a high mileage user and my valance gets chips and scrapes even when being careful. I had a new one fitted and sprayed last year. I use use factorydealer spray cans just to keep it lookin half decent which usually passes all but an 'on yours knees' inspection. All part of living with a Sport really. Once it gets too bad it goes in for the professional tidy up.
