Has anyone dyno'ed one of these things yet?
There was a white touring in the photo gallery with one of these manifolds that had been dynoed at fritz bitz.
He was called wheels I think????
Daimlerman- I remember you saying you liked all your low down torque? I'm almost sure that a 6 branch will lose some of that. Albeit who will gain some top end though

1an- obviously if someone did get it dynoed before and after with good power gains plenty more people would pounce on them!
I have a 6 branch on mine- a magnex copy (as far as I know) and I wouldnt swap to a hottuning item unless it gave a power increase.

id have 1 if they did 1 for the m30 as the power losses/gains ar not important to me it would be more cosmetic. to be honest a i couldnt dream of spending £500-600 on btb manifold for that reason. but for those who want the power gains unless the hottuning is proven id be wary at the lower price. just my opinion dont mean to offend any1

From meeting daimlerman (Malcom) a couple of times, the impression i get is that astetics are not the most important thing for his car but actual peformance gains are, hence why he is keen to know if anyone has tested the btb copy and weather it actually is an improvement or just a shiny waste of £240.1an wrote:to be honest at £240 odd does it matter? it looks nice and they sound good bothered about power to be honest, if you want to see a real power increase by a BTB
like i said if you want power spend it on the BTB, but these manifolds are going to be copied from another proven 6 branch, you might see something but untill we see some before and afters no one will know.bss325i wrote:From meeting daimlerman (Malcom) a couple of times, the impression i get is that astetics are not the most important thing for his car but actual peformance gains are, hence why he is keen to know if anyone has tested the btb copy and weather it actually is an improvement or just a shiny waste of £240.1an wrote:to be honest at £240 odd does it matter? it looks nice and they sound good bothered about power to be honest, if you want to see a real power increase by a BTB

Summed me up to a tee!! Simon, you talked about 'next couple of weeks' on the 12th Jan.... my exhaust has started to blow so this is now getting desperate...hence a fresh question.bss325i wrote:From meeting daimlerman (Malcom) a couple of times, the impression i get is that astetics are not the most important thing for his car but actual peformance gains are, hence why he is keen to know if anyone has tested the btb copy and weather it actually is an improvement or just a shiny waste of £240.1an wrote:to be honest at £240 odd does it matter? it looks nice and they sound good bothered about power to be honest, if you want to see a real power increase by a BTB
ditto that Daimlerman
until hottuning or anyone with one of there manifolds can produce a report, then this debate will run til doomsday.
i have a BTB from our own Evolve zone shop, on a old tired engine that needs a bit more TLC than its given, but think its the best money ive spent, (or was that the scorpian exhaust all the way through...also from Evolve)
more zoners support Evolve and Ant... and prices should come down aswell...
there's more room for traders to sell there wares on here, but good feedback sells better than words....
oi, does that give me an extra discount on my next order lol...
seriously though.... invest in the product, prove it works, = you will then gain respect for it....... monetary gains should be the fortunate after thought

I to have a btb, a sebring centre and a scorpion back box (the slash cut one with no scorpion text on the tail pipes, ala apina just a bit bigger) also bought from Evolve waiting to go on my 47000 mile sport which engine is in fine health and has done 171 bhp on a few different dynos. This will be finaly going on in a couple of weeks and i will post the results.
Im hoping for a 10-15bhp gain.

Yes they are a copy of the btb, it the quality of the copy that is in question and if this will have a detrimental effect on performance.1an wrote:like i said if you want power spend it on the BTB, but these manifolds are going to be copied from another proven 6 branch, you might see something but untill we see some before and afters no one will know.
Only time will tell but one thing i will ad is if hottuning are the people to test and report the results then this is not conclusive as they could manipulate the results in their favour so only an independant test on a standard healthy engine will be good enough to me and im sure plenty of others to prove its credentials.
well im going to be buying one and as soon as it is all up and running i will have it put on the rollers to find out exactly what is going on, and to be honest im not fussed if it makes 1hp or no gain,bss325i wrote:Yes they are a copy of the btb, it the quality of the copy that is in question and if this will have a detrimental effect on performance.1an wrote:like i said if you want power spend it on the BTB, but these manifolds are going to be copied from another proven 6 branch, you might see something but untill we see some before and afters no one will know.

obviously they are cheap for a reason, the craftman ship is not going to be to the same standard as the BTB or the grade of stainless, but untill i make my mind up what im doing with my engine the hottunig will do me fine.
Not going for an M50/52 anymore 1an?
well my head says put an m50/52 in but my heart doesnt agree if that makes sense.bss325i wrote:Not going for an M50/52 anymore 1an?
but due to the m40 dieing a very sudden death and my Dad saying i could take the m20 for nothing it would be silly not to.
at the end of the day a car that pushes 170bhp+ is going to be enough for me at the moment as at the end of the day i am only 18 and i think i need to learn to walk before i can run. (i.e i should get used to 170bhp before i strap a turbo of supercharger on to it) this way ill be keeping it e30 at heart and not edirty6.
but we will build another m50 powered car but it may be diesel

Have you heard an RD one? Alot more bass than btb, throbby. With a scorpion centre box they sound sublime! GUG had this. They make an M20 sound manly
RD one went on ebay for £350 last week. No downpipes i know but they look much better also.
BTB have a really high pitched whine, which personally i don't like

me?
ive had 3 orders from Sal all of them not correct and 2 out of 3 of them were delayed, so me moving to Sals unlikely. so i point blank refuse to buy anything from Sal.
fact you can buy direct from BTB is good enough for me, plus i would much rather go down to Hayward and Scott and have them make me a full exhaust system

tell me about it,Simon13 wrote:your razor tonight!
yeah ive seen lots of their work, while ive been down there, guy i used to work for his lotus ahd a manifold and backbox so a full sytem, was mapped by Dave walker@ Emerald and it was of the best flowing systen and craftmanship he had seen,
they are also made the full system for his ferrari 355 and that was another piece of art, and sounded awesome,
also made a full system for someone else i know who has a focus RS, again another great piece of work, and made it to exactly how he wanted.
and the other cars i have seen down there, loads of porsches and not forgetting karans manifold on his e30.
but they are expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have approached hottuning for their 'best price' and received a positive response. My second email requested Louise's prefered payment method. I received a puzzled response,so my third email quoted all the previous emails. I still received an odd reply.Louise,if you are reading this, your price is fine, how do I pay you?...I always thought it was Germans who had no sense of humour....in addition to this manifold,I am looking for a supplier of a stainless system to finish it,not a Mongoose or similar barryboy kit,but a proper one that will keep plod happy whilst not strangling the 2.7,anybody any thoughts, please?
Youth is wasted on the young.
