Bear with me everyone I'm learning so just a 'What do you think' post.
Would this combo work? It will be built by myself and on a budget.
Engine - Low comp (7.1) m20 2.7
Turbo - Something like an impreza turbo
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-WR ... dZViewItem
Manifold - Same style as turbo-browns sequential jobbie
Intercooler - Sierra or nissan(something that would fit where an auto oil cooler lives.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-SIERRA-COSWO ... p1638.m124
Exhaust - Could I keep the standard 325i with modification or is it custom time?
ECU - Megasquirt?
Injectors - Not sure yet
Please comment! Am I going in the right direction?
Cheers Rich

Same manifold as TB´s ? As in running two turbos of different size?

No i mean the bit before the turbo's sorry maybe that was miss leading. I'd make a manifold.

Think you could aim for a higher compression ratio personally. 7.1:1 is awfully low!
You thinking of going for a twin sequential Rik, or just a manifold which looks like this:

Which is the same as mine until it reaches the turbo.

I think for my first project I'll start lower down the table mate. Your conversion is awesome but I have to walk before I can run!
Yep thats the kinda manifold I was thinking but single turbo.
Reason for the project is a mate of mine has a 350Z and its faster then mine!
I need to show them the rightness of E30s

Also I have no idea about CR. I'll wait to get all the parts I need before sorting the engine build I think

your awfully close to me,
and another e30 turbo member on this forum which his name has slipped me.
to outrun a 350Z is not going to need much if that´s the case.
Split pulse and a smallish Holset Hx35 or a new GT30 should suffice quite nicely
And you surtenly don´t have to run 7:1 unless the plan is to leave all this countries nissans behind

Oh yes I have to completly leave him for dead haha. Spose I need to keep the fuel consuption fairly okish aswell cos its my daily driver.
Indeed I am mate. What E30 have you got? Might of seen you around.
Whats split pulse? Was thinking of the parts above as they can be found fairly cheap on ebay. Would they all work together? 7.1:1 was from an earlier post for a 2.7 conversion which was a m20b25 with eta crank and rods, 325i head and pistons.

ETA crank is worthless fella just turbo a M20 B25 stock internals will take a 1 bar of boost at stock CR.
Do a search on the forum there is loads of info on here.
just get a decent manifold
squirt
Turbo ( Hx35w or GT30 as Gunni said )
Manifold can be made at a cost ( By me) or buy a cheapy piece of taiwan shat of EGay
you will need al oil feeds etc
poss relocate oil filter etc
personally just supercharge it look in group buys A-Tech has one to offer.
as its just a bolt on kit drop me a PM for further information if you like....

If you want to leave him you can run your 2.5 turbo and cam and leave him easily.

I´m pretty close to the city center,
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... sc&start=0
This is my car.
My turbo kit will be in in the coming weeks.
My VEMS - M20 adapter will be ready soon
this is what a TCD 50trim setup does at 13psi,
on a stock M20 with standalone.
Youll leave your friend easy anyway you look at it

Given it´s a dynojet, it still shows the curve.
I can´t wait to get me some of that boost.

Nice car mate, not seen it around though.
That curve is alot steadier then I thought it would be which is great.
What does TCD stand for?

£90 bargain thats more like it!
Howmuch are the TCD manifolds usually?
Why is there a hole in the top of that manifold? Is it for another turbo?

Just remember that with more money savings comes ALOT more research into finding cheaper parts
and getting cheaper labour.
I would suggest getting things as you can afford them and not loose track of things as many do.
Some of the time you spend searching for cheaper parts could be spent by you doing your normal job and earning
the money to buy the shiny bits right away. You have to ask yourself what is your time worth?

Hi Rik
Nice to see another turbo project on the books in nottingham, my brother has ammased the majority of bits and bobs for the turbo conversion, but due to him moving into larger premises for his bodyshop is having to sell his 30,
i am not sure whether he is willing or prepared to sell off any of his conversion parts as he will definately be getting another it will be just a matter of time. i can ask him if he is keeping it all or selling if you like.
What colour 30 is yours, i see quite a few round near me ?
Hi Gunni,
Sorry not been able to meet with you yet dude, work is hectic and the weather has been poo.
Will definately make time in the near future, weather permitting.

Has anyone had any past experiance or can give me any advice?
