can any one talk me through wiring a push button start switch to a 1986 e30 please. thanks.

does anyone know what colour wires i need to take from the ignition block to the new switch ect.[/code]

black yellow to the push start as this is the starter. You want to leave the key for the rest of the electric and steering lock. ???

Just the black/yellow then. Cut it. extend it to the button. And then when your key is in the on position, Press the button for the starter the wiz over..

thanks very much, so the 2 terminals on the back of the new switch, the one marked "to source" goes to the black and yellow, the other marked 12v+ goes to any live is that right?

Make sure it is a good 12v thickish wire. I would take it from the constant when cranking one on the ignition myself and use the same gauge.
