When fitting a zone wild chip the tickover RPM is increased from about 700 to 1000. Does any one know what effect this will have on my 325is auto? Will the increased tickover put extra strain on the talk converter when the vehicle is stationary? Will I have to select park when I am at traffic lights etc?

You may get creep, we're only talking 200 rpm though.
In traffic jams its probably wise to select park or neutral as the the extra speed may cause the fluid in the torque converter to start heating up.

Should idle at 900 dude. stock idle is 680, if yours idles higher on the stock chip may I recommend the throttle stop is shut back to factory stock before you chip her again.
Autos and zone ones work OK but I recomend the auto specific variant for the very reasons outlined above.
