thats not a misfire thats a back fire.

if its auto put it in drive then put your foot on the brake and rev it up. if it goes like duh duh duh its misfiring. if it runs smooth its not. if its a manual heel and toe it to do the same.

sounds to me like its just your exhaust popping because of your back box. unless you have had the exhaust for a while and its just started.

after i changed the exhaust on my nissan motor it sounds like that when you give it a good rev. sounds cool tho.

hahah ..its cool for a while i guess.
i've had this exhaust for less than 2months... i dont think itd be the cause of the distinct sound ..mm .
standard Remus sports backbox thats all.

does it sound like a vacuum leak or ..?

anymore ideas? cheers. :x

at idle its fine really ...with the airconditioning on...its bout 900 -1k rpm.
well its definitely backfiring ..as u put it. coz when accelerating ...im not getting any pops or jerks from the car...
just this backfiring when i let go of the throttle...its seems fine if i cruise at 2k rpm ...
the point of rpm that seems to cause most of the sound is mainly round 3.5k down to ...say 2k rpm .
anywhere below or above that on the rpm meter ..it sounds fine.

just need to knwo whether is this sounds like a prob? or its just an exhaust thing that happens ..

if it was a vac leak id say ur idle would be affected.

i dont think its a problem if the car is driving fine. unless it iritates u i wouldnt be too worried. i like a little pop pop.

all my cars do it. but then again they all have "chav" exhausts.

yeah sounds like that on mine too with a stainless steel exhaust.

isnt it when you lift off, the exess fuel gets burnt up in the exhaust causing a pop, same as when you see flames coming out he back of a rally car's exhaust?

i could be wrong tho!

so is it possible to have an exhaust shop take a look at it and repack the fibres in the box?

know of a place that does exhaust for high end sports cars... and also very good at replicating exhausts of any kind (eisenmann, remus , supersprint)

btw im in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia :D
