RAGING!

Ԛ£54 for a BMW drivers seatbelt from the $tealers! Then Ԛ£50 for fitting!

It was 'frayed'

TAKE NOTE!

Please check your seatbelts before going for an MOT!!

Costing me guts of hundred quid!

our old 205GTI failed it's mot because the rear belts were tucked under the seat when they had been folded down for access to the boot!

when I got the car from my mate, before I parted with any cash for it I decided I would take it for an MOT. I decided to use a place that is just a testing station and don't do any actual work on cars. Thought this would give me an honest down the line opinion rather than going somewhere you know are easy or somewhere that will fail you on something they feel they cna get work out of.

Aside from handbrake being inoperative on N/S/R and corroded N/S/F brake pipe and headlamps being out of aim, it failed on the centre rear lap belt being missing (had fell down behind the seat - lazy fcuker could have checked) and also famously (yes it was me) on driver's view being restricted - Magic Tree hanging from r view mirror!

cnuts! - but at least I know my car is safe and roadworthy, plus because i had the old MOT certificate, which still had 1 month on it, they post dated my mot so it started from the expiry of the existing one :D

Well thanks for the offers there guys - obviously if i'd even thought about my seatbelt i would have replaced it beforehand but i'm sure it had been 'frayed' for awhile! The cnuts.

I'll know where to ask to get one next time. I hope the one from the $tealers is gold plated.

Anyway its the same garage i've been using for the last 3 years to service & MOT it...demonbiker - you might know it, might not, its Lochrinautos in Tollcross...

http://www.lochrinautos.com/

They have been good with me so far but the car passed pretty much the other things, only a dull brake light, and t-pipe for my washers to work again, so i reckon they were just 'having Monday morning blues' when they did the MOT. The cnuts.

Never take your car in for an MOT on a Monday morning!
