I did my first track day today at brands in my cossied e30. Had a really good day but had a few problems.
-Over heating: I had to turn the boost down to 0.6bar to stop it from over heating! Apparently a swirl pop might help - any ideas?
- Fuel starvation I have a 30l alloy tank in the boot and if more than 15l is used then I get a lack of fuel after tight bends - again apparently a fuel swirl pot will sort this?
I am tempted to revert to the standard tank - lower c of g. Is there any advantage in the tank in the boot - weight further back for example.
Even running just 0.6 bar I still had a really good time and intend on doing many more track days. My best time was 1:03 - Any good?
cheers Guys

as long as you had fun, thats the main thing!pbmw can do 59 second laps with 100hpish , but fuel starvation doesnt help.some people in the series are starting to run swirl pots to stop this problem.overheating?!trying using the interior heaters alot!

ive never had any problems with overheating even though the e30 front doesnt flow that much air . look at the condition of your rad. i had mine recored and temps dropped drastically.a fuel swirl pot will help if your pump is up to the job. what fuel pump are you using? iirc i used to use 2 on my custom fuel tank. a low pressure pump to feed the fuel to the swirl pot then a high pressure pump to feed it to the engine, both external. i currently use a standard tank with an escort cosworth uprated pump thats meant to be able to handle up to 500bhp and is a direct swap for the standard in tank e30 pump.
whats the spec of your engine?
