As in the title really....

I'm talking about the big single nut at the centre of the hubs. Is it 27mm?

Biggest socket in my set is 24mm so need to buy one

I can only tell you about the rear ones, as i have recently replaced the rear wheel bearings on my touring, they are 30mm and you can buy an individual 30mm socket from Halfords for £5.45. :)

If you are working on the rear hubs you will need to buy new locking washers from the main dealer (only pennies), the old ones will come off when you undo the nut, on re-assembly use the 30mm socket to tap the new lock washer into the flats of the nut. Good luck, the hardest part is getting the old bearings out.
An E30 touring, two E28 M5's and an E28 528i.
