It is quiet big at about 10mm diameter and I need a lenth of about 100 to 150 mm :)

Look up fixings and fasteners in your Yellow Pages.
Comes in 1m lengths, but is usually quite low grade steel.
In fact, I need some 8mm threaded in 8.8 grade, so I'd be interested to know if it's readily available

My local DIY shop had Studbar in sizes up to 15mm.
Ԛ£4.00 for a meter of 12mm.

most builders merchants or diy shops will sell i know travis perkins do.1200mm lengths i think
