The rev counter in my 1986 316 has green on it and just wondered if anyone else has seen it on any other e30s because i haven't.

And no it hasn't been painted on lol

Well its not an m3 They could't be further apart

the clocks actually came from my previous 318i m10 because the rev counter was knackered, and i keep meaning to ask about the green bit :D

Never seen that before either mate, but what happens between 5500 and 6250??? winkeye
I'd say M3 clocks at a guess but not sure. I notice you've got a 150mph speedo like the 6-cyls but no "swingometer" for the economy.

i have a book in front of me now stating that as from sept 1985 all were 150mph.

it must have been an optional extra before that coz my 318i was from 1984 :?

I've come across this before on early 316's in the scrapyard. I like them, shame there's no economy gauge as the others i've seen have been the same as this.

Seems to have been more popular on e21's

they aren't M3 clock!

just early pikey spec 316 clocks. Really early ones had a clock instead of a rev counter but the rev counter was soon standard equipment on all models!

As Simon13 says. they are clock from a very early 316 or 318 who dont ticked the clock option when they orderd the car new... I think they are a bit funky and to be honest, the ecco system they have can some times be anoying, very anoying when you drive an M30 3.5 who is thursty as Dracula

E21`s dont have, not here in UK anyway, only in germany and a few other european countries, so these clocks were probably imported OF someone aquired the RPM meter and swapped it, ive only ever seen them once back in 1987 on a 325i, never seen em again

Nice, but being poor I need to know my economy :( Bet anything you've just painted them on to spark this whole in depth debate.
