I've never heard of one, there have been a few discussions about this before though.
There was an e30 324 diesel but I don't know much about it other than there are very few in the UK, not sure if they were rhd or lhd or if any were converted. It is a 6pot though.

A 330d engine is going to cost mega money, they are not that good on fuel either and I wouldnt go to diesel because I couldnt bear standing at the pumps watching the £5 per gallon rolling over.
If you want cheaper fuel for your car then gas it.
The only 324d's in this country are imports, if its right hand drive its been converted.

back to the point, surely if a m50.52 from a e36 can be made to fit, then a 2.5td from a e36 would fit too?
not sure what power these units produce?

I'am not sure but i thought the 3/530d engines were drive by wire as well which would be a ball ache to
