Been to look at an old 635 thats been sat for a year, tried to jump start it and it will turn over but no spark!
Anybody got any clues?
It was raining called it a day before pi55ing around to much

Could be a duff ignition coil or ECU (or even missing altogether!), or a loose connection/bad earth. Best to check for power (12V pulsing with the engine turning over) reaching the coil low tension (LT) terminals and go from there.

Cheers the owners bet was a bad earth, trip out with the voltmeter me thinks, well if it finally stops raining!

Find the DME relay (five pin) on the fuse box. Check for 12v at the red wire (12v feed) with ignition on. No power = wiring fault. If there's power there, check for 12v at the red/blue wire (12v to ECU). No power there could be a bad earth (ground the connection to battery earth - ) or a faulty DME relay (very common).
