Since I own my E30 i wanted to learn how to practice a small corner powerslides, nothing profi just for fun when traffic is small. I know how to kick the tail out and make a small move, but how to do it easily in U turn or long corners? I was thinking of trying it when is dry outside, on the rain is pretty unstable so I don't want to finish in some wall

Handbrake is best for U-turns
You turn sharply then yank the handbrake on hard and simultaneously dip the clutch, which causes the back end to swing round; once it's swung enough, lift the clutch again, release handbrake and on with the power. It's fun!

its easyer to learn in the rain mate, in the dry it will take more abuse to make it slide and hold it sideways. i can hang my 316 on an open diff on a long bend, do you have an open diff or an lsd obviously on an lsd it will make it easier. and a good kick on the clutch will get it sliding.

nope, I want to learn before I can practice it on the road
Maybe this guy will end up on youtube after an altercation with another road user on a public road?

And this means ??
lol
I'm surprised at you chris... you seem like such a sensible fellow. Trundling along at no more than 3.5k with hands at ten to two.
Knowing how to initiate a drift instantly makes you a hooligan.

Yes... I'll bet a tin of beans on that.bss325i wrote:Maybe this guy will end up on youtube after an altercation with another road user on a public road?
Or at the very least a topic on here in the next few months titled;
'Bent rear subframe and buckled wheel, is it terminal?'

You can come to my place here in Sweden and I can give you a roof over your head for free. The current siuation is that we have snow and ice on the roads who is the best of the best if you want to learn to drift a car and that is how I leared it. To try to learn drifitng on a dry day with dry roads is like ask for a crash with your loved car, been there done that.....

Maybe I'm an old geezer already but it sounds for me like asking for troubles. You must to learn first on closed site without lamp pods, etc. On open road you will end on some hard obstruction. And it will be sooner than later.
And I really know what I'm saying, in the proper car I can slide it at around 220 km/h (ca. 135 mph) near 100% safe (you cant do it 100% safe, never). But it is after near 20 years of practise and near 10 years in motorsport. So infer figures.

Round a corner, foot to the floor, if the back end doesn't come out then kick the clutch (just kick it with your foot, don't hold it down), and steer into the slide if the back end comes out.
You will probably smash your car up though, so get to a carpark and practice.
It takes a long time to be able to drift safely on the streets, so just trying to drift on the streets in the dry straightaway when you have to ask ON A FORUM "how do I skid my car?" sounds like a recipe for disaster.

The most critical part is turning the wheel back into the normal state after a slide. Anyone can countersteer, even grandma's, it's a natural reaction to a slide, but practice and feel are crucial, otherwise you can end up in a wall on the opposite side of what you previously feared. Also, LSD makes life a lot easier. And the better the grip, the harder it is to slide. Especially the part I was talking about, when the wheel is light and you countersteer, don't get carried away and feel when the car is returning from the slide and react accordingly, don't let it twitch to the opposite side!
Erm.... just dont do it on the road. ever..... except at 2 o clock on a sunday morning in the middle of an abandoned industrial estate when there isnt another person for 2 miles in any direction that is

What an arseholeo! If a car came toward me like that I would definately go after them

The boy can almost drift.... but should be violently battered for trying that on a public road, especially with people around!
