Wondered how much work a conversion for an E30 would be.
Has anyone heard of one?.
I bet they would have sold like hotcakes!

The only factory E30 diesel i know of is a 324 which i think is a pretty rare beast......to be honest i dontthink they were the greatest engines in the world.....i quite fancy putting a 320/330d lump in an E30 but althought the mechanics are'nt a great task the electrics and electronics would be the mother of all bitches!

Of all the people ive met, youre definitely one of them!

The 324td knocked out 115bhp, so not too bad really.
IMO the 320d engine isn't great and the 330d is a peach but will cost a fortune.
How about a 325tds, best of both worlds. 140bhp stock and 180 with a fiddle box attached. Don't go winding boost pressures up though, they run over 30psi standard!!!!!!!

Some of these new diesel engines produce some interesting results.
What about that new 1 series diesel engine in an E30.
That would work.

I always thought a E30 with a 330d engine would be pretty neat. More torque than you could shake a stick at. Good for some heroness, though you could end up with your prop shfts looking like corkscrews.

Once driven, forever smitten.
Direct injection, turboed, intercooled, 16 valves giving a whopping 48.5hp/litre!!

Pretty sure there wasn't a tds, only:
324d, 90bhp
324td, 115bhp
I'd seriously consider an E30 with a diesel in for economy (rather than torque/power) like a VAG 1.9tdi for example?
Would be perfect as I love everything about the E30 except the economy!

I meant tds because I could have sworn I saw an e30 with a tds badge on it, but then again a bade doesn't really say that much

Oooooh yeah! I've done the hard ones now. Just marketing this wednesday left. So I'm chilling.
I'd love my touring with a 330d engine. That would rule. 40mpg, and fast as fcuk!

I'm doing 3.5 and I can't wait. The only thing is, it'll be like 15mpg!
Got the engine, got the prop, got the mounts, need gearbox and e28 rad and let's go!! Uni is nearly finished! Let the fun begin!

That tourer doesn't look too bad at all, get it slammed and you'll be laughing all the way to the boat yard.. (Where they sell red diesel)

that green touring is very nice indeed mate
full service historie (1990) in Dutch tho.. it has aircon and a few they replaced like the batterie, rear wheel bearing, timingbelt, brakes, exhaust
it's an auto.
looks very nice esp for under 1k
