A 2000 Reg 323i SE with a 2494cc engine
and
a 325i SE?

Also for £5k what car would you buy? Its my dad thats looking so its deff not going to be an E30 soz lads!

He's twitching on an E46 or Golf Gti at the minute.

the 323is are slightly slower than the 325i not much difference between them tho my dad used to have a 1999 e46 323i and it was quick, there basically set up different but when the 325i came out they stopped the 323i

the car my dad had is now owned by his mother in law and its done 260k and still runs like new i would say there pretty bullet proof if looked after

the 323i was only made for one year between 1999-2000 which was replaced by the 325i same with the 328i that was replaced by the 330i. then in 2002 it was facelifted with new front lights etc

well i would out of the past 4 cars my dads had i would say that was the best it was topaz blue with cream leather and has now done over 260k and its still going strong but it does have FSH but as long as they have been maintained they should be good for years to come.

So yer i would recommend a e46 as long as its a 6cyl not sure what the 4 pots are like 316i's and 318i's

if i you have 5k to spend you could get something similar to this

It does look abit rough around the edges. Only 35 miles from me though so might go take a look.

323 models used the 170BHP 2.5 M52 engine and the later 325 models used the 192BHP lump (M54????).

I've currently got a E46 1999 323 Ci SE. Great car. But having some problems with it.

You've got to check out the subframe issue. Its a big fix (4 weeks, £3500!!) But BMW usally cover the cost as its a manufacturing fault. see here: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=195602

Also, the thermostats tend to go, only £140 to fix at a indie. Apart from that shes a good motor. 146k on the clock, smooth as ya like.

Any Q's about it, let me know.

Well, the problem was sorted for the face lift.

But if you look here, on the last page, it states 5 2002 cars, 1 2003 and 1 2004 cars have had it [/url]
