After being with out the M3 for 3 weeks, I had it back today, it's been in having some bodywork sorted, it's had the rusty scuttle repaired, lower rear valence cut out and new part put in, part of one rear arch cut out and replaced, evo lip spoiler fitted, and painted as well as the front bumper re-painted, lower panel (underneath the grill) re-painted, rear spoiler re-painted, and all 4 arches rubbed down re-painted and stone-guarded, well chuffed with the standard of work, total cost Ԛ£650!

Here some before pics of the scuttle..

And here's some after pics...
The brown residue is just waxoil, plenty of it has been used too!

And here's the before pics of the rear valence, no after pics due to the rear bumper being re-fitted..

I'm off for a drive! :D

My scuttle is in a very similar condition to yours, just wondering how much it might cost to cut out a small section, repair and re-paint? Just a rough estimation is all I'm after if anyone has an idea.

I've heard some scary quotes when it comes to scuttle repairs, when the guy who did mine gave me the quote I was very surprised! If the rust is anywhere near the windscreen surround, then the windscreen will have to come out, and also the dashboard may have to be removed, I think the guy who did mine would probably charge about Ԛ£200 for just a scuttle repair like mine.

Looks a good job that Simon.

Did you do some of the prep work, ie taking the car apart?.

Very good price 2.

Hi Gareth, it is a very good job, you can't tell it's been done!

I did no prep work myself, they did all the work!

Simon, I have a hole well below the windscreen, it is completely hidden with the bonnet shut, basically located just under the back corner of the bonnet.

Should easily be done without removing the windscreen then, the only problem is finding someone who can do a good job!

I reckon the guy that did mine would probably charge about Ԛ£200, maybe less, it was the biggest job on the car, new scuttle from BMW is Ԛ£30, unless you want to cut one out of a car in a breakers, but for Ԛ£30 it's not worth it really!
