Not when you fail to capitalise letters at the beginning of all of your sentences....e30m3s50b32 wrote:ok , grammar lolste wrote:Oooh the irony!e30m3s50b32 wrote:

Why? "I" as a personal pronoun is always written with a capital letter, irrespective of where it appears in a sentence.e30m3s50b32 wrote: as for the capital "I" well, you can let me off that

Just yanking yer chain!e30m3s50b32 wrote:kp, 90% of people dont bother starting any sentance on here with a capital when typing, so i think thats it is a little harsh to make big issue of it, but again point taken

Yes, I watched that. Typically self-righteous plod, most of them didn't even give the members of public any say-so whatsoever before leaping in with the heavy-handed "I'll arrest you for public disorder" line for the slightest perceived bit of non-compliance, then one admittedly older and hopefully wiser one said they're not all automatons and acknowledged that the public should be listened to. Most on that programme came across as the 'I'm an authority wearing a day-glo jacket and therefore always right, how dare you argue with me!' brigade.krazypaul wrote:As an aside (sort of), did anyone watch the "Motorway Cops Special" that was on BBC 1 last night?
They pulled a guy who had allegedly failed to pay for petrol on the motorway and his number plate didn't match. The officers who stopped him gave him a real hard time, very patronising because he was a mere 18 years old with a bit of an attitude.
He knew that the number plates were incorrect, it was the fault of a bodyshop or something and he had been issued with a 14 day rectification notice some 10 days earlier. The copper wrote him a fixed penalty ticket for it.
I did think he had a point when he said that if he had 14 days to rectify the number plates, how come he was in the wrong now?
I was pulled in Cheltenham once having just finished a dj gig. The officer claimed he had seen me getting in the car and I had 'hung around' for a little too long (I was changing a cd before setting off) so wanted to "check I wasn't drink driving".

In the same way you will not be let off for starting a sentence with 'Not'...krazypaul wrote:Not when you fail to capitalise letters at the beginning of all of your sentences....e30m3s50b32 wrote:ok , grammar lolste wrote: Oooh the irony!

Why? Is it because you hate them or is it because you are an advocate of the very opposite of a "liberal political attitude"?Rosc0PColtrane wrote:I hate these threads. They should be locked.
I did no such thing. I just highlighted what was a) in the tv programme last night and b) my own experience of being stopped for no reason.People give coppers a hard time when in reality,
I was prepared to take your long winded rant against liberalism with a pinch of salt until you called me an idiot. They do not deserve the shit being spouted by idiots on here.

Actually wasn't aimed at you, I wasn't calling you an idiot. I was pointing out the irony of calling out grammatical errors, employing the use of an error.krazypaul wrote:Why?
