Hi all

Im slowly collecting all the bits so my turbo conversion can be completed by A-tech

just wondering what people recommend for dump valves and spark plugs for turbo applications?

The car will be for dedicated track use (if this helps?)

cheers

do you want a loud dump valve? that answer is usually yes as once youve went turbo you want everyone to know about it. bailey motorsport d/v does me. quite loud.

Not bother about it being loud, also ordering a tial 44mm external wastegate so that will make the right sounds. I just want it to do its job well.

what turbo and what boost are you running?
if your running something like a holset you dont really need a dump valve under a bar as they are tough as old boots. but other than that a good strong adjustable bov such as tial that wont open to early.
plugs, NGK 3923 BPR8ES or BPR7ES for over a bar
hope this helps

@ Dave, had some parts come in early dude, might assist with your parts requirement, inc a 60mm external W/Gate

Ant email sent

Rossle :My target is 350bhp so im guessing approx 1bar of boost

I want a dump valve for performance based reasons only, when the throttle is lifted a negative pressure wave is sent down the inlet tract that can slow the turbine wheel. Dump valves help limit this.

I was looking at tial but £300 for a dump valve seems excessive, when baileys and forge etc are £90

well my plugs are over a bar, and they are the latter, but over a bar if you want better performance get a bov as this will decrease spool time,as when you change gear, instead of sending back preasure to the turbo it will release it at the bov still keeping your turbo spinning and able to spool quickly,
and could i say at 1 bar with all the right mods you might be lookin at 450 to 500hp,
BUT thats just IF you have the right mods and the right tuning.
but your best bet, speak to ant.
