shadow line and grill

can anyone help with paint on a shadow line. at monent its chrome with white paches should i use matt or gloss wat prep should i do and the same for the full front grill thanks

the standard shadowline seems to be a sort of "satin" black, so i did my front grills with matt black and laquer
