My car that got stolen was black....bastards...id love to stamp on their thick skulled heads....wnkrs.

It was bad enough they nicked and torched it...but to rub things in even more, by chance it ended up sat in the mud in the middle of my local scrappy about two weeks later....not what you want to see happening to your pride and joy :(

Had my E30 broken into to try and steal it - tried to jump start it but couldn't manage, so they left a fiver in the glovebox and stole the torch - b**tards! Still got the damaged steering column shroud, not got round to replacing it yet..

It was white too, so would have been a good cue ball.

lol - I meant I had a fiver in the glovebox, which they didn't take. I don't think Nottingham scum are in the habit of paying for their joyrides..

Speaking of it, how hard is it to steal an E30? I thought about installing some safety systems into mine to scare away small thieves, but if the car itself is good enough for that then I don't need it.

e30s are simple to steal, only decent way of immobilising them is a switch or device on the earth of the fuel pump.

why all the hostility to police ?

and if you have a poor attitude to them and "talk back" when you get pulled expect to be given a hard time.

it seems they were doing thier job in this case so its justified. i have never experince a problem with them, and have no problem or concerns if stoped for a routine check, i have nothing to hide or be worried about so i know i'll be fine. maybe just a short delay to my journey.

I got a car back after it had been stolen because the police done a 'routine check' on my car after it had been nicked!!

If you've nothing to hide whats the problem with a quick check? and if you dont want to get nicked for swearing at them... dont swear at them?? How would you feel if someone called you a c**t for doing your job??

I admit sometimes it can be a pain, Ive been late for a job because I got pulled but it was one of thoes routine checks that got me my car back.

Sadly I have no faith in the organisation that is the Police. Not once have they ever assisted in the two cars I have had stolen. The 2nd car I had stolen, MK2 golf, they didn't even show up at my house although did assure me when I enquired to what they had done, that they had gone door knocking to no avail. My girlfriend was also subject to an attack and even though we had proof of the person who did it, our neighbour at the time, GF ended up going to court defending herself because said neighbour hit the 9's first. The final nail in the coffin so to speak was when we were chasing after some scum who had nicked the CD player out of my girls car. We lost them but later found them filling up in a BP garage, we got out of car and they pulled off...right in front of Mr Plod who was driving along the road. It is worth pointing out that there method of transport was a, rather knackered, Mk3 fiesta, at most a 1.3, Mr Plod had one of those Volvo Estates, probably a T5 or something, the police we aware of the situation before scum bag pulled out in front of them and indeed looking for the fiesta. well he now had him on a plate. Plod got the blues going and took after him in a modest pursuit only to, apparently, be out driven by scum bag and his mates, we know who they are but you bet your bottom dollar if I touch a hair on his head I'd be the one down the cop shop. Only way they'll learn is to break all there fingers

Not once have the police ever helped me out, don't get me wrong I don't start shouting at them and swearing if/when I get pulled over, I'd rather the tax's go on something else, ... like more benefits for the scum bags so that they can afford there own cd players and car aerials and don't have to pinch mine!

ive been let off with a bollocking by some surprisingly decent officers but theres sometimes the good cop bad cop routine where one, usually a young lad, is a twat with an attitude . if that said twat had the same attitude in everyday life but without the uniform to hide behind he would undoubtable be a regular in the A+E department. and that tars them all with the same brush much like the way all 'hoodys' seem to be regarded as trouble.
when you grow up in a rough housing estate the police are not regarded as your friends.
thats just the way it is.

Realistically the majority of police do an excelant job in difficult circumstances that is modern policing, but thats not the point of this thread.

Ian if your car is parked on the road its at risk, Im fairly sure the ones being stolen arent being driven away.

A friend of a friend had his 535i sport stolen from littlehampton way and they took it away with a Hi-ab. It was mine and my friends car once so we know it fairly well. My friend spotted it up a certain local race track even though it had been repainted he knew because of a unusual dent. He went straight up to the bloke driving it and asked him why he stole it, got the no I didnt blah blah blah.

Ive had dealings with this guy before he isnt a friend of mine in anyway but I know what he has done this sort of thing before.

When I went up the track to watch a friend race one of his E30 breakers I spotted at least 4 E30's up there. 1. 325i coupe, my friends I know it was legal. 2. 318 touring looked rough think it was legal. 3. 325i touring looked way to clean to be going round the track. 4. Mtec 1 sport!! guy said he bought it for £75!! surely not? pre race track condition looked very good.

I know that cars being stolen for racing has been going on for as long as I can remember. It used to be Cortinas, mk1 & mk2 escorts and the old faithful hard as a coffin nail Mk1 & mk2 Granadas etc. Obviously these are really hard to find now so onto the old BMW's. There strong, reliable, fast and theres bucket loads of them everywhere.

Mtec 1!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

These two cars maybe legal but they just didnt seem right to me.

If anyone is unlucky enough to have a car stolen and you have a race track near you I would definitely look up there.

I would like to ad that in no way am I saying that everyone who races cars steal them!! I dont want any banger boys having a pop at me.

Ian if you need any bits for your car give me a shout, my friend breaks (legal) E30's all the time.

i'm just going by your spelling and grammar agreen

now, i'm not a "coppa" but if i was and i happened to pull you over and you had such a positive attitude as you display here, then i would give you a hard time.

i have friends in the police force and you truly have no idea what sort of shit they have to deal with, and its not surprising when some one they just actually want to give a friendly warning to has "chip" on their shoulder and "talks back" with attitude then they will do their job by the book.

also hearing stories from traffic officers of having to scrape up the remains of a person off the motorway becuase they were driving too fast, not concentrating, or becuse their car was not road worthy etc, i am sure that i dont think they like to do that, so by giving you a warning/fine and hope you learn and understand why, is their way of saving lives and not having too tell your next of kin that you are dead

take a step back and consider what you have said and think before you speak. a few people here have said that the police do a good job under pressure and in difficult and dangersous situationa. it is going slightly off topic, but the point has been proven that they were doing thier job in this case.

finaly in regards to threatening me. dont be so pathetic and grow up.

i personally have had 3 bmw e30s stolen 2 went out my drive at my old house when i was on holiday and the other one went missing out my friends mothers drive while i was in the middle of moving house. all 3 went missing from the same area sadly 2 of them were never recovered the one that was recovered had that much damage i ended out breaking it. the 2 that were never recovered had no insurance on them one was a very clean c plate 318i the other was again a clean f reg 325i the police interrogated me over these cars going missing and kept asking me what were they insured for!!! i lost count of the amount of time i told them that they both had no insurance on them. yet they were more interested in if id done this for financial gain!! the car that was recovered was missing for 6 months and it was my self and a mate that found it not the local coppers. when i called the police to say i had found the car they said someone would be with me within 10 mins. 4 hours later after getting threatened to get off the boys land with a shotgun the police finally arrived to ask me if i could identify it .. well its got the reg plate on it was my response do a vehicle check.. then he asks me if i had proof i owned the car which to that i produced the v5

Cheers mate, I'll give you a shout if I need something (I'm sure I will!)

I don't mind the police pulling me over, the point of this thread wasn't to have a pop at the police for pulling me over just to make you aware that cars (which happen to be E30s) are being stolen in my area.

I'd rather they pulled me over, checked it out and made me aware that my car is at risk of being stolen. I've done nothing wrong so I've nothing to hide.
