Hello , is it worth upgrading to grooved discs on the rear (will be going so for the front plus mintex uprated pads)

No better than making sure the discs, pads and fluid are all top notch allready.
Grooved discs won't make a huge difference on their own and will wear your pads quicker, they were originally used on race cars when the brake pads and discs would create gas during high temperature operation that then impeded the operation of the discs, initially the discs were drilled but this caused stress fractures around the holes in some wilder applications so they statred cutting shallow grooves instead. It also helps with water dissipation and on race vehicles the premature wear of the brake pad actually keeps the pads soft and avoids vitrification.
Unless you plan on using the car purely on track and in poor weather I can' see any real benefit, and would much rather up-spec the rest of the system.
