What are the rules about the location of the extra filler hole? Can it be mounted inside the car or under the bonnet?

Do left hookers have the filler on the opposite side to right hookers? If so then you could have 'factory fitted' fillers on each side of the car, one petrol, one gas.

Ok people i have just got off the phone to my supplyer and he is willing to do a deal but befour we can settle on a price he needs a fiew more details....
the kit comes with everythin inc tank. this is where it gets confusin you could have either a 70 ,80 or 90L tank (cylinder) pic below
http://img57.echo.cx/my.php?image=cylinder6dy.png
Or for an extra Ԛ£50 you could have a 60,70 or 80L Toriodal tank pic below
http://img57.echo.cx/my.php?image=toroidal5bx.png
Measurements are as follows
cylinder
70L 300mm dia 1088mm long
80L 315mm dia 1139mm long
90L 360mm dia 996mm long
Toriodal
60L 630mm dia 250mm high
70L 650mm dia 270mm high
80L 720mm dia 250mm high
Now do also take into account that a tank will only ever b 80% full max due to there is no where for the air to escape to like a normal fuel tank.
I also need to know all engine sizes for vaporisor matching
There is some good news on where u can mount the filler, u can also put the filler in the bumper and they are also havein made up at present for those of u with tow bars a filler that looks like an electrial connection for caravans (tow bar electrics)
We need 10 cars to start with to get a decent price and then multiples of 5 will get theres 4 the same price (its gonna b an on goin thing)
Certification: we will have to go to him in cambridge and he charges Ԛ£25
4 the privialidge but if we go in groups, will do deal.
All we need now is numbers. any questions pm me or give us tinkle on mob:07843911040 (Richard)
Its all up to now.

Ye Gods, this thread has attracted some interest since I posted at lunchtime!
See some talk of injection emulators in the thread. These are not needed for M20 engines. Just need to break the common feed to the injectors to disable them.
The filler point needs a bit of thought, as the filler connector is heavy, and can twist bodywork. One option is to mount it on a towbar, if you have one, or I have seen them mounted in bumbers, ( not on an E30 though). Mine is mounted directly behind the petrol filler, after removing the filler flap locking solenoid. The back end of the filler box is then bracketed to the flange on the inner wheelarch, which gives a very rigid installation.
The system that touringdaddy is proposing is only suitable for cars with metal inlet manifolds, and will give a small reduction in power.
Anyone with a plastic manifold, like the M50 must use the more expensive injection system, which will also eliminate the power loss.
The 60l torroidal tank, that touring daddy lists, will fit perfectly in the E30 spare wheel well at 630mm, but at 250mm high will stick up into the boot by about 35mm.
I use a 630mm by 225mm in my touring (50l), which only lifts the luggage floor by 10mm.

A lot of installers won't certify DIY installs, but there's enough around who will, although they might not publicise it too much because of LPGA pressure.
For details of what's allowed to go where, you need to have a read of the LPGA COP 11 (code of practice).
A Google search brings up the 2002 ammendments to COP 11, and the original version is available somewhere in it's entirity, but I can't remember where.
The filler can be mounted anywhere on the vehicle, as long as it is within the plan view of the vehicle and at least 9" (IIRC), from the exhaust.
Bumpers and towbars are common places, but on an E30 it fits nicely just behind the petrol filler, and braces to the seam on the inner wheel arch.
